A Good Night

Bruce had a shift of people throughout the night. His pain is managed well with high doses that make him unable to communicate. He still has hiccups though.

Mary Beth's brothers gave him a good shave last night. The night nurse was so impressed that his brother-in-laws would do something like that and show such loving care. She said, "Bruce must be great guy!" I was able to tell her a hearty "YES!" to that and told her about the wonderful gathering we had for Bruce in February. He is so loved, and he is a great guy!

Mary Beth came in this morning with coffee in hand. She looked well-rested after a night at home and "pretty in pink" even down to the Pink Converse All-Stars.

She will be talking to Dr. Neville this morning about easing up on pain medications so that Bruce might gain more lucidity. Please pray for wisdom.

This is more for MaryBeth than others, yet I suppose it's true for many that are closely involved. I would simply state that I'm proud of your clinging to the Lord in the midst of this uncharted journey. It is SO clear that you have been doing so. I am consistently amazed and moved with the glimpses I've had. Jesus is honored and exalted. While I am yet 'just another' person that is praying for you, I am truly blessed to be a part--simply by the observation. A hearty thank you. In the midst of this, you, Bruce, and friends continue to impact lives. I know that would please Bruce. But more importantly it pleases Jesus. I think of Hebrews 11:6 and that without faith it is impossible to please Him.... While Bruce's faith isn't really the focus right now, I am confident that there's a huge, delighted smile on Jesus' face regarding Bruce...and you. If there's any comfort in that, enjoy it. You are pleasing the Father.

Love to you--

Prayers and thoughts continue for the A Team and to their LOVING SUPPORT system! Way to go Marco and Mike in giving Bruce a shave and helping him to continue with dignity. Bless you MBA for holding all things together. This is true testimony of what a great person Bruce is. Bruce we pray you soon will be communicating more with your loving family.

Thank you so much for the updates. I continue to pray that God's peace carry you through these difficult days. We aren't even always able to put the thoughts and longings of the hear into words ... but He understands and offers refuge in His shadow. Sit under the Mighty Oak,rest in its shade; drink from the brook--be refreshed by it's waters. The journey is long and arduous, rocks along the dusty and uneven road, but the Lord refreshes and provides shelter and nourishment in the relentless heat of the day.

We are in Redwood Ciy should be home by Tuesday night if everything goes right. We are so glad you are surrounded by those you love. I think we can honestly say we understand some of what you are going through. We will pray as we have for Bruce to have those special moments with family. Give him a hug and tell him how much we love him. He truly is my neuropathy buddy and an inspiration and friend to us.
Love, In Christ who gives us peace that passes all understanding and dries our tears. Mary and Ron

Bruce, Mary Beth, and Family,
This weekend (4/18-20) I attended a retreat at Lake Tahoe with the men of First Presbyterian Church of Roseville (CA). On Saturday evening, we held a special prayer time, and I sat in for you folks, lifting up you, Bruce, and you, Mary Beth, and all of the family to GOD for healing, strength, and guidance during the trying time. Please accept our prayers on your behalf, as you struggle through this. We are all with you - there were over 40 men in the prayer circle praying for you. May the LORD Bless You with HIS Peace. I remain, your friend from Mt. Hermon Family Camp - Sandy Wilson.

"Time for me to fly
Oh, I've got to set myself free
Time for me to fly
And that's just how it's got to be
I know it hurts to say goodbye
But it's time for me to fly".
