Message from Mary Beth...

Mary Beth's Sunday with Bruce began at 10 a.m. She took a couple of hours away this evening to be with the kids and to get ready to stay the night with Bruce. MBA's sister left today and her mom is still here to help.

Bruce is heavily sedated and sleeping comfortably, which is the goal while he is in the hospital. There have been a few episodes of agitation and discomfort. There have also been some "funnies" by Bruce that had me laughing aloud. One of them occurred before MaryBeth arrived this morning. I had just gotten off the phone with MBA, while sitting with Bruce. He was trying to find a comfortable position when I told him MBA would be here in an hour (which was the truth). With his eyes closed, and in his quiet voice, Bruce said, "MaryBeth said she'd be here in an hour four hours ago." I did a double-take, then asked Bruce if he just said the above statement. He said, "Yes." I laughed and said, "She did NOT!" He said, "Yes, she did." The whole time his eyes were closed and he said that on purpose. It cracked me up.

A CT scan was done today; it was difficult for Bruce to get through because of the pain. They will meet with doctors tomorrow to figure out the next step.

Your love and prayers are greatly appreciated. MBA's requests are:

* Please be sensitive with the questions you ask the kids regarding how their dad is doing.
* Pray Bruce may come home;
* Pray for rest (for all);

~Melinda

We are all praying that the pain gets under control so that Bruce can once again be with him loving family at home. Through the stormy journey that they are on leave it to Bruce to lighten it with a bit of humor now and then.

Mary Beth,
You, Bruce and the children are constantly in our thoughts and prayers. If we can do anything at all please let Melinda know and we will do it. Melinda and I check in daily with each other so please let me know.
They say laughter is the best medicine and I am so glad Bruce still can make you laugh.
I will pray for the doctors to do all the right things so Bruce can come home.
Sending our love and prayers,
Rochelle, Dan, Aimee and Corrie

Mary Beth,
I am so busy just trying to make sure I do grades correctly that I do not know how to enter a message on you blog. I decided to do it the old fashion way since I can not figure out how to enter it on your blog.

Oh Mary Beth how I appreciate you and all you do for others, even as you endure being a single Mom and widow. I do not know if I could have been as strong as you. I pray for you always and I thank the Lord He has Blessed me with your friendship, even though I do not see you often, the times I do your bright smile, caring arms and warm heart gives me a look at how the Lord holds me. It was such an incredible Blessing to see you at Women of Faith. He knew just what I needed.

I know the holidays are always so busy for everyone but it seems to be my only break. I would like to take an oppourtuntiy and take you out to lunch if possible. We are leaving for Dan's Mom and Dad's on the 11th and will return on the 21st. Would you have anytime when I get back? Let me know.

You are such and incredible Blessing to me from day one.

Thank you in Christ's Love
